Trying to solve a problem with increasing storage in a VM. It was originally set up as a 'thick' storage. Keep running low on disk space and want to increase the size. Using he tools I've increased the disk size from 45GB to 100GB. The change is reflected in the summary tab for the VM. The VM itself, however, is still showing the original 45GB of capacity. What did I miss?

I used www.domain.ca because I had a unused certificate. Is my license key tied to the certificate name? I don't recall being asked that during the trial/download process.
If I try to connect to the server using the internal FQDN name, I get a certificate popup. After I accept it, I receive the same error message.

On a Dell R710, with a 1.2TB SAS drive, I have installed ESXi 5.5u2 on a thumb drive. I need to create 2 datastores ( 1 @ 800GB, 1 @ 300GB ), each having its own OS running ( Linux and 2008 ). This R710 uses a H700 RAID, and with these controllers I have to at least use RAID 0, which I initialized. I can create the one of them ( it does not matter which one ), but I cannot create the other. Via the GUI, there is nothing to choose from to create another, using the existing drive space. I get no choice to add storage.
If I try to create one via command line ( found instructions via web ), I get the following error :

1. Can I have 2 datastores on 1 physical ( virtual drive via RAID 0 ) ?
2. If yes, then how and if no then what is the the workaround, just add another drive ?
Same issue, it is reverting the the default provider, not the one I am passing.

I have two esxi 6.0 host that I want to connect to a shared storage through iSCSI. I have followed this technical paper http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmware-multipathing-configuration-software-iSCSI-port-binding.pdf#sthash.7bztDoAS.dpf to configure the iSCSI interfaces on the esxi host with port binding. No problem there.
I am using HP MSA 2040 with a dual controller and I will connect both hosts directly to the shared storage. As to the hardware, following the best practices documents there is a recomendation to follow a vertical subneting for the controllers ports. However I haven't found any requirement as to the iSCSI ports in vmware, all the examples I've found set up each vmkernel port in a different subnet like I've done:
vSwitch0
iSCSI1 - vmk2 - 192.168.1.11 (vmk3 unused)
iSCSI2 - vmk3 - 192.168.2.11 (vmk2 unused)
So, my question is should vmkernel ports be in different subnets? or could they be in the same subnet without any difference performance wise?

I fixed my own issue.
Even though when i would run get-Cluster DR-Test | Get-vmhost | Test-DeployRuleSetCompliance and both servers come back as compliant. The Auto deploy server was some how still caching the old image. Once I ran Repair-DeployImageCache every thing worked with out me having to kick hosts out of vcenter.
Have you also imported the Root and intermediate certs into the client and user store of the client you try to download the VM template from?
You should not see the cert warning if the cert is valid.
Just out of curiosity did you download with player or workstation?
What SSD's are you running.
I just discovered that I have Lite-On SSD drives that don't seem to be on the VMware VSAN HCL for ESXI 5.5 U2 hybrid
They are on the list for ESXi 6.0 ALL Flash Array.
I haven't managed to make it work with kickstart on a network location. However I have placed my kickstart file on the bootable USB device that I am using for the installation by stopping the installation before it starts with SHIFT + O and adding:
> runweasel ks=usb:/ks.cfg
I know it's not the answer to the question but it's an alternative path to the same place.
Trying to set the network coredump settings on a host via an Automation script/workflow. unfortunately, I have not been able to find the attributes, methods, or classes to do this. Does anyone know how to set this directly from Automation? This can be done through ESXCli and powersCLI but we would like to do this directly from an Automation script/workflow.
In esx cli the conmmand is: esxcli system coredump network set --interface-name <VMkernelInterface> --server-ipv4 <IPAddress> --server-port PortNumber
In powerCli it is:
$ESXCli = Get-EsxCli -VMHost $ESXiHost;
$ESXCli.System.Coredump.Network.Set($null, $HostVNic, $null, $NetworkServerIP, $NetworkServerPort) | Out-Null;

If I connect using the trusted external domain name www.domain.ca, I don't receive the security popup because it's a valid 3rd party cert and its added on the mirage servers' IIS SSL site binding.
Per the intructions, using the Horizon FLEX admin Console, I also imported a trusted certificate list file with the same cert:
I received the cert warning because Felix asked me to try using the internal FQDN (mirage.it.local).
I tried downloading the VM from Player and Fusion, with the same result.
I've also tried building the VM from Workstation and Fusion with the same results.

We are getting an increasing number of calls from users where they complain about their ThinApps are launching without their settings/configurations. In these cases, we have found that a new folder was created in the "%appdata%/Thinstall" folder with the thinapp name appended by the computer name. Example: "%appdata%\thinstall\netbioscomputername".
The problem is fixed by deleting the extra folder with the appended computer name.
This behavior seems become more prevalent since we upgraded from View 5.3 to View 6.1.
Our basic understanding of this is that the folder gets created because it thinks the ThinApp is already running.
What causes this scenario and how we can address it? Are there options in a ThinApp with regard to how this scenario is handled?
Could this happen if the user has the application running and it is forced to refresh without a normal logoff?

Although there may be options to do this from the command line, keep in mind that only a single datastore is supported per LUN/disk.

What's the purpose for this. As I understand you, you want to create two VMs, so why would you want to use separate datastores. The VM's virtual disks are files on the datastore. If you want to have two datastores anyway, you need to configure two logical volumes on the RAID controller. Btw. I definitely recommend against a RIAD0 as it provides no data protection, and should one of the disks fail you might lose everything.

Increasing the virtual disk size is only one of the required steps. After increasing the disk size, you need to resize the partition size within the guest OS itself.

I am using converter 6.0.0 to convert a physical linux machine to vm. I have getting the following error repeatedly. It always stopped at 3% after 3 minutes

I have spent many hours on this but could not figure it out. I have tried a different physical linux machine, and got the same error. I have no problem logging into the physical machine XYZ.mit.edu outside of the converter. The converter contains plink program under C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone, and I can run plink to the physical server XYZ.mit.edu by store the fingerprint in cache and it connects fine.
I have no idea where the SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_4.3 in the error message comes from. The physical server XYZ.mit.edu runs OpenSSH_5.3p1. Here is the entry of /etc/ssh/sshd_config on the physical server

Im using Powercli 5.5 R1, The "config.AddPSSnapIn("VMware.VimAutomation.Core", out warning);" in the mentioned code
is working fine without any exceptions. only the invoke command fails.
Is "importPSSnapin" is also required before doing the "AddPSSnapin" ?
